I am an introvert and while being an introvert isn’t bad, there are some drawbacks. Lately, I have been feeling a loss of identity and social anxiety at having to interact more with others. Regardless, I don’t like to dwell on thoughts that pester me and instead choose to use them as fuel for my artwork. Animation is a medium that allows me to express narratives in alternative realities and serves as method of escapism. Hatastrophe is a short animation that brings these feelings of mine into perspective. It follows a girl who becomes the victim of childish bullying from her own “mental” monster. It is often through humor that I take back control and poke fun at my own insecurities.
